3. Job Summary
Cranes Varsity is hiring freshers for a Software Engineer position in its Technical (Hardware) Department. The role involves working across Embedded Systems, VLSI, IoT and Data Science.

The selected candidates will contribute to software and firmware development, hardware integration, simulation, testing, data analytics and technical training activities. They will also assist senior trainers in conducting practical workshops and developing instructional materials for students and professionals.
4. Key Responsibilities
A. Embedded Systems & IoT
– Design, develop and test embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers, sensors and IoT devices.
– Work with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, MQTT, Zigbee, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
– Support RTOS and hardware-software integration.
B. VLSI & Chip Design
– Assist with RTL coding, simulation, synthesis and verification.
– Work on ASIC and FPGA design flows and chip verification.
– Support design optimisation for low power consumption and high performance.
C. Data Science & Analytics
– Collect, process and analyse datasets using Python, R or MATLAB.
– Implement basic machine learning models for predictive analytics and IoT data processing.
– Develop dashboards and data visualisations.
D. Software Development & Testing
– Participate in cross-functional product development.
– Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
– Perform software and hardware testing, debugging and quality checks.
– Stay updated with developments in Embedded Systems, VLSI, IoT and AI/ML.
E. Technical Training & Workshops
– Assist in developing technical training content aligned with industry standards.
– Conduct practical demonstrations and hands-on workshops.
– Support training sessions covering microcontrollers, programming and system design.
– Prepare presentations, manuals and instructional guides.
– Track participant attendance, training progress and assessment outcomes.
– Prepare reports on training effectiveness and participant performance.
5. Required Technical Skills
– Basic knowledge of Embedded Systems and firmware development.
– Microcontrollers and embedded system design.
– UART, SPI, I2C, MQTT, Zigbee, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi protocols.
– VLSI fundamentals, RTL coding, simulation and verification.
– FPGA and ASIC design fundamentals.
– Python, R or MATLAB.
– Machine learning and predictive modelling fundamentals.
– Operating systems and RTOS concepts.
– Software testing, debugging and quality control.
– Dashboard development and data visualisation.
6. Desired Candidate Profile
– BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech / MCA or a relevant degree.
– Candidates from Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines are preferred.
– Freshers and candidates with up to one year of experience can apply.
– Strong interest in Embedded Systems, VLSI, IoT or Data Science.
