About the Opportunity

A leading IT services and consulting firm is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to build and maintain high-performance microservices for enterprise applications and high-traffic e-commerce platforms serving Fortune 500 clients.

The role involves designing scalable backend systems, developing RESTful APIs, optimizing databases, implementing cloud-based solutions on AWS, and collaborating with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.

Build scalable backend systems for high-traffic e-commerce platforms.

Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features.

Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Design database schemas and optimize queries across SQL and NoSQL databases.

Participate in architectural discussions and promote microservices best practices.

Implement containerization and cloud deployment solutions using AWS.

Develop automated tests and integrate CI/CD pipelines.

Use tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI to streamline build, testing, and deployment processes.

Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.

Implement monitoring and logging solutions using ELK, Prometheus, and related tools.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.

Strong knowledge of:

Java

Spring Boot

Spring MVC

Microservices architecture

RESTful APIs

Distributed systems

Expertise in SQL databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.

Experience with NoSQL databases, including MongoDB and DynamoDB.

Knowledge of database schema design and query optimization.

Strong understanding of AWS services, including:

Amazon EC2

Amazon ECS/EKS

AWS Lambda

Amazon RDS

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.

Understanding of software development best practices, data structures, and algorithms.

Preferred Skills

Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows.

Experience with Jenkins and GitLab CI.

Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, and Amazon CloudWatch.

Experience supporting scalable, cloud-native applications.
