Job Summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking an experienced WLAN/Linux Driver Development Engineer to join its Engineering Group. The ideal candidate will have strong C programming skills, hands-on experience with Linux kernel development and device drivers, and knowledge of networking components within the Linux kernel. Experience in Ethernet and Wireless LAN driver development is preferred.

The role requires strong technical problem-solving abilities, effective communication, cross-functional collaboration, and a willingness to travel internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain software using the C programming language.

Work directly with the Linux kernel and Linux kernel device drivers.

Develop and troubleshoot networking components within the Linux kernel.

Design, develop, and maintain networking drivers, particularly Ethernet and Wireless LAN drivers.

Investigate complex system issues and implement effective technical solutions.

Troubleshoot driver-level and system-level problems.

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across different geographical locations.

Define technical requirements and plan development activities within resource constraints.

Work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure engineering environment.

Maintain strong communication and coordination with team members and stakeholders.

Travel internationally when required.

Required Technical Skills

Strong programming skills in C.

Hands-on experience with Linux kernel development.

Knowledge of Linux kernel device drivers.

Understanding of networking components within the Linux kernel.

Experience with networking driver development.

Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in WLAN driver development.

Experience developing Ethernet drivers.

Knowledge of Wireless LAN technologies.

Familiarity with additional programming languages such as C++, Java, and Python.

Experience working with distributed, cross-functional engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree: Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 4 years of software engineering experience.

Master’s Degree: Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 3 years of software engineering experience.

PhD: Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 2 years of software engineering experience.

Additionally, candidates must have at least 2 years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.

Willingness to travel abroad when required.
