Role Overview
FreightMango is hiring an experienced Sales & Business Development professional with strong knowledge of the Indian shipping and freight-forwarding industry. The role focuses on customer acquisition, revenue growth, account retention and expanding the client base.
Key Responsibilities
Generate sales from new and existing customers and achieve assigned sales targets.
Acquire, retain and grow the customer base.
Manage sales leads and monitor conversion progress.
Handle FCL, LCL, ocean freight and air freight business.
Develop verticals and preferred industry sectors.
Analyze clients based on:
Gross margin
Shipment volume
Profitability
Manage receivables and support healthy cash flow.
Understand customer requirements and resolve escalations.
Build and maintain long-term B2B client relationships.
Handle negotiations, contracts and commercial discussions.
Support budget and team management.
Stay informed about digital technologies and developments in the logistics-tech sector.
Required Experience
4+ years of sales/business development experience.
Strong preference for experience with freight-forwarding enterprises or logistics technology companies.
Deep understanding of:
Shipping and logistics processes in India
Freight-forwarding operations
Shipping/cargo movement regulations
FCL/LCL
Ocean freight
Air freight
Proven ability to close sales contracts and maintain customer retention.
Preferred Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Strong listening and presentation skills.
Customer escalation management.
Negotiation and relationship management.
Ability to prioritize multiple daily activities.
Comfortable with digital logistics products and technologies.
Strong B2B sales capabilities.
Qualification
🎓 Graduation is mandatory.
