Job Summary
VAM SYSTEMS is hiring a Windows – SQL Support Engineer to provide Level 1 (L1) support for Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server environments. The role involves infrastructure administration, incident management, production support, monitoring, patch deployment, and working in a 24×7 rotational shift environment.
Key Responsibilities
Windows Server Administration
Provide L1 support for Windows Server environments.
Administer and monitor Windows Server infrastructure.
Support Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS).
Manage DNS, DHCP, and DFS services.
Perform routine server administration activities.
SQL Server Administration
Provide L1 support for Microsoft SQL Server.
Support SQL Server administration.
Perform database user management.
Install and deploy SQL patches.
Monitor SQL Server health and performance.
Troubleshoot SQL performance issues.
Infrastructure Support
Monitor Windows and SQL infrastructure.
Understand virtualization and storage environments.
Support server hardware and software.
Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams.
Work closely with L2 and L3 administrators.
Incident & Service Management
Monitor production alerts.
Perform incident analysis.
Report production issues with impact assessment.
Resolve incidents within SLA.
Deploy approved patches and bug fixes.
Maintain incident documentation.
Build and update the knowledge base.
Follow ITIL-based support processes.
Monitoring
Monitor infrastructure alerts.
Check server status proactively.
Escalate critical issues appropriately.
Ensure service availability.
