🧾 Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced L2 Storage / Backup Specialist to manage enterprise storage, backup infrastructure, and VDI hardware environments.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in:

Storage administration
Backup technologies
SAN/NAS environments
Hardware lifecycle management
Server and firmware administration
🎯 Key Responsibilities
💾 Storage Administration (Primary Role)
🔍 Health Monitoring & Capacity Management
Perform health checks on PowerMax/storage systems
Monitor component status and storage resource pools (SRP)
Apply:
Compression
Deduplication
Data reduction policies
Analyze storage logs for:
Performance bottlenecks
Configuration issues
System errors
⚙ Provisioning & Configuration
Configure:
Storage Groups
Port Groups
Host Groups
Masking Views
Provision new LUNs on PMAX SAN
Map storage to host groups
Create and expand NAS file systems and quotas
Create Windows/Linux shared drives for departments
📈 Optimization & Lifecycle Management
Perform storage tuning and optimization
Manage snapshot lifecycle:
Creation
Monitoring
Deletion
Expand storage volumes and user allocations
🛠 Incident Management & Vendor Coordination
Raise and manage OEM hardware tickets (Dell, etc.)
Coordinate with vendors until issue closure
Resolve alerts after firmware updates
🖥 Server Administration (Secondary Role)
🔧 Hardware Monitoring & Diagnostics
Monitor:
Management servers
Blade servers
Chassis hardware
Collect and analyze hardware logs
Perform corrective troubleshooting actions
Coordinate vendor support for failures
🔄 Firmware & Patch Management

Perform firmware/security updates for:

Management servers
Blade servers
Chassis
IDRAC
VxRail

Additional responsibilities:

Prepare SOP documents
Execute scheduled maintenance tasks
Create plan-of-action documentation

🎓 Education
B.E / B.Tech in:
Computer Science
Electronics
Information Technology
Related fields
💼 Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in:
Storage administration
Backup systems
VDI hardware environments
🌟 Preferred Technical Skills
PowerMax / PMAX SAN administration
NAS & LUN provisioning
Storage optimization and monitoring
VDI infrastructure support
Firmware lifecycle management
Dell enterprise hardware support
Linux/Windows storage environments
