Job Summary

CARE Consultants and Contractors is hiring a Senior MEP Design Engineer – Electrical to join its Chennai-based MEP design consulting team. The role involves designing electrical systems for building projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring designs comply with industry standards and client requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in electrical design engineering for buildings, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to manage project coordination activities.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design
Design electrical systems for residential, commercial, and institutional building projects.
Prepare electrical design layouts and engineering drawings.
Develop electrical engineering solutions based on client requirements and applicable standards.
Ensure designs comply with relevant electrical codes and industry regulations.
MEP Coordination
Coordinate electrical designs with:
Mechanical Engineers
Plumbing Engineers
Architects
Structural Consultants
Resolve interdisciplinary design conflicts during project execution.
Project Management
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.
Support design reviews and technical discussions throughout the project lifecycle.
Design Documentation
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design calculations, and engineering reports.
Review and verify design drawings for accuracy and compliance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
4–8 years of experience in electrical design engineering for building projects.
