Senior Landscape Architect

Location: Chennai – Alwarthirunagar

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Landscape Architect with strong academic credentials and hands-on expertise in large-scale landscape projects, including institutional campuses, public spaces, townships, and mixed-use developments.

The ideal candidate should possess exceptional design capability, technical proficiency, execution knowledge, and the confidence to independently handle client presentations and pan-India site coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Landscape Design & Planning
Lead landscape design projects from concept development through detailed design and GFC documentation.
Prepare masterplans, conceptual layouts, grading plans, planting layouts, BOQs, technical drawings, and presentation materials.
Develop high-quality visualizations, renders, and presentation decks for client discussions and approvals.
Project Handling

Manage and contribute to large-scale projects such as:

10–100 acre campus developments
Township and mixed-use developments
Public realm and institutional landscapes
Large redevelopment and infrastructure-linked landscape projects
Technical Expertise

Demonstrate strong knowledge in:

Hardscape detailing and material selection
Planting design and horticulture fundamentals
Irrigation systems (manual and automated)
Contour handling, grading, and earthwork coordination
Landscape lighting, drainage, and utilities integration
NBC norms, Indian standards, and environmental regulations
Site Execution & Coordination
Conduct regular site visits for supervision, snag identification, and quality inspections.
Review GFC drawings, shop drawings, material samples, and mock-ups.
Coordinate with architects, structural consultants, MEP teams, contractors, and PMC teams.
Ensure accurate implementation of design intent on-site.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Present concepts and technical solutions confidently to clients, consultants, and authorities.
Support approval documentation and provide technical clarifications when required.
Internal Team Responsibilities
Participate in design reviews, value engineering, and design audits.
Mentor and guide junior landscape architects and team members when needed.
Required Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from a reputed institution.
6–8 years of professional experience in landscape design and execution.
Strong portfolio showcasing:
Minimum 3 large-scale projects
Masterplans and detailed drawing packages
Rendered visualizations and execution photographs
Software Skills
AutoCAD – Advanced
SketchUp – Intermediate to Advanced
Lumion / Enscape – Intermediate
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign – Advanced
MS Office & PowerPoint
Behavioural Competencies
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong client-handling capability and confidence in independent interactions.
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
High accountability and problem-solving ability.
Flexible and willing to travel extensively on short notice.
Travel Expectations
Approximately 6–10 days of travel per month across India.
Travel includes site inspections, client meetings, project reviews, approvals, and quality audits.
Reporting Structure

Reports To: Design Director / Deputy General Manager (DGM)

Timeliness and quality of design submissions
