Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented L1 Network Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. The candidate will assist in monitoring, configuring, and maintaining Palo Alto and Check Point security appliances to protect the organization’s network infrastructure. This role is suitable for candidates with foundational networking knowledge and an interest in network security operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor security logs and alerts generated by Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.

Assist in responding to security incidents by analyzing alerts, documenting findings, and escalating issues to senior engineers.

Support the configuration and deployment of firewall rules, security policies, and VPNs under senior engineer supervision.

Assist with user access management and permissions.

Maintain accurate documentation of network security configurations, changes, and incidents.

Collaborate with senior engineers and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network security issues.

Follow established security procedures and operational best practices.

Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity threats and network security practices.

Required Qualifications and Skills

Basic understanding of networking concepts, including:

TCP/IP

Subnetting

VLANs

Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks and Check Point security technologies.

Understanding of security monitoring tools and practices.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of firewall rule management and network security policies.

Familiarity with SIEM tools.

Understanding of security incident management processes.

Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or equivalent.

Note: Certifications are an advantage but are not mandatory.
