Job Summary

Oracle is seeking an experienced Network Reliability Engineer (NRE) to support the design, deployment, and operations of its global Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) environment. The role focuses on network fabric development, systems engineering, automation, and operational reliability across a large-scale cloud network comprising tens of thousands of network devices and servers.

The ideal candidate will combine deep networking knowledge with programming and automation skills to improve network availability, performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy, maintain, and support large-scale global cloud networking infrastructure.

Improve service availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and capacity planning.

Lead critical technical projects and network infrastructure improvements.

Develop automation scripts to simplify complex network operations and improve efficiency.

Enhance operational tools, deployment processes, monitoring practices, and service reliability.

Establish and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level objectives (SLOs).

Manage technology migrations involving major network infrastructure components.

Coordinate incident management, troubleshoot complex network outages, and serve as a specialized escalation point for network events.

Conduct root cause analysis and lead post-incident corrective actions.

Develop metrics, dashboards, and monitoring solutions to improve operational visibility.

Evaluate new systems and provide operational assessments and integration recommendations.

Define technical requirements, specifications, milestones, and project documentation.

Lead network automation initiatives and moderately complex technical projects.

Provide technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior engineers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendor engineering teams, and account managers to resolve technical and operational challenges.

Support hiring initiatives and promote operational maturity across the organization.

Required Skills and Competencies

Strong understanding of networking protocols and large-scale network infrastructure.

Experience with cloud networking and distributed systems.

Programming and scripting skills for network automation.

Knowledge of network operations, monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting.

Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex production issues.

Experience improving network reliability, performance, capacity, and operational efficiency.

Strong technical leadership, project coordination, and documentation skills.

Ability to mentor junior engineers and collaborate effectively across teams.

Preferred Experience Areas

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other large-scale cloud platforms.

Network fabric architecture and Clos network topologies.

Automation of network deployment, configuration, and operational processes.

Service reliability engineering and production incident management.
