Job Summary
Medical Billing Wholesalers (MBW) is looking for an experienced Medical Coding Quality Auditor to join its Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in medical coding, coding audits, medical billing, and healthcare quality processes.
The role involves auditing coders’ work, identifying quality issues, maintaining coding accuracy, supporting training initiatives, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and information security standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Auditing
Review coding work completed by Medical Coders.
Audit medical records for coding accuracy and compliance.
Identify coding errors and quality issues.
Document audit findings and prepare quality reports.
Monitor coding productivity and quality performance.
Coding Review
Review patient charts and medical documentation.
Verify diagnosis and procedure coding accuracy.
Review reports prepared by Coders and Senior Coders.
Ensure adherence to coding guidelines and client requirements.
Quality Assurance
Participate in developing and updating process documentation.
Support the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO compliance.
Ensure adherence to company quality standards.
Follow MBW’s information security and confidentiality policies.
Training & Process Improvement
Provide constructive feedback to coding teams.
Work closely with the training team to deliver remedial training.
Assist in improving coding quality and reducing audit errors.
Adapt to new coding guidelines, client requirements, and process changes.
Educational Qualification
Any Graduate (preferred)
Relevant education in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, or related healthcare disciplines is advantageous.
Experience Required
4–6 years of Medical Coding experience.
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Coding Quality Auditor with a medical billing service provider.
Mandatory Certification
CPC (Certified Professional Coder) – AAPC
or
COC (Certified Outpatient Coder) – AAPC
