Job Summary

Induspect (I) Pvt. Ltd. is hiring a Mechanical Piping Engineer for refinery maintenance and shutdown activities at CPCL, Manali, Chennai. The role involves planning, supervising, coordinating, and monitoring piping maintenance and modification works while ensuring compliance with refinery safety standards, engineering codes, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate should have experience in refinery or petrochemical maintenance, piping systems, shutdown execution, and contractor coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Planning & Supervision
Review job requirements and understand the complete scope of work.
Plan work sequences to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
Identify critical path activities and coordinate with contractors to minimize delays.
Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to shutdown schedules.
Piping Engineering
Read and interpret piping modification and replacement drawings.
Identify work locations and verify job scope before execution.
Obtain technical clarifications from CPCL maintenance engineers when required.
Supervise piping replacement and modification activities.
Site Coordination
Coordinate with:
CPCL Manufacturing
Inspection Department
Maintenance Teams
Contractors
Ensure timely pipeline release for maintenance activities.
Coordinate material issuance and verify proper utilization of supplied materials.
Inspection & Quality
Monitor joint-wise progress of piping work.
Coordinate inspections for:
Fit-up
Root Welding
Final Welding
Dye Penetrant (DP) Testing
Radiography (RT)
Stress Relieving (SR)
Hydrostatic Testing
Ensure work complies with applicable engineering standards and refinery procedures.
Safety Management
Be physically present during first hot work activities on pipelines.
Monitor safety compliance throughout maintenance activities.
Report and rectify safety violations immediately.
Ensure adherence to refinery fire and safety guidelines.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain detailed shift handover records.
Update shift turnover logbooks with work progress.
Prepare daily status reports for CPCL management.
Record completed activities such as:
Welding joints
Radiography
Stress relieving
Hydrotesting
Prepare material requirement plans and progress summaries.
Required Qualifications

Option 1

BE / B.Tech / AMIE in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

OR

Option 2

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience

Be comfortable working in rotating shifts during shutdown activities.
