Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee machining operations, ensure production efficiency, maintain quality standards, and supervise shop floor activities. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of machining processes, machine handling, safety compliance, and workforce coordination.

Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
Supervise machinists and assign daily duties to ensure smooth workflow
Coordinate machining operations and maintain production schedules
Ensure work is completed accurately and within specified timelines
Plan and schedule work in the most cost-efficient manner
Minimize machine downtime and troubleshoot potential breakdowns
Monitor production quality, waste control, and housekeeping standards
Machine & Technical Supervision
Operate and oversee CNC, VMC, Lathe, and Milling machines
Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications
Ensure compliance with tolerance and quality requirements
Monitor machining accuracy using precision measuring instruments
Maintain knowledge of surface finishing techniques and machining processes
Safety & Compliance
Ensure employees follow PPE, safety, and company regulations
Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization as per 6S standards
Monitor compliance with food safety policies and procedures
Handle ESH and ISO documentation, record keeping, and audits
Promote continuous improvement initiatives across the department
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Hands-on experience with:
CNC Machines
VMC Machines
Lathe Machines
Milling Machines
Proficiency in precision measuring instruments:
Vernier Calipers
Micrometers
Inch Tap Gauges
Knowledge of tolerance standards and machining quality requirements
Thorough understanding of surface finishing techniques
Skilled in handling workshop tools and equipment
Experience
Minimum 4–7 years of experience in machining or manufacturing environments
Prior machine shop supervision experience preferred
Programmable milling experience is essential
Manual turning experience is essential
Proven ability to meet production schedules and manage timelines effectively
Additional Requirements
Basic computer knowledge for reporting and documentation
Strong leadership and team management skills
Commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement
Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum 8 hours)
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required
