Key Responsibilities
Medical Coding & Documentation
Review medical records and assign appropriate medical codes.
Perform accurate Medical Review Assessments (MRA).
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and utilization management regulations.
Identify missing medical records or documentation required for review.
Case Management
Identify cases requiring medical review.
Coordinate with physician reviewers when necessary.
Track utilization management cases and follow up on pending reviews.
Maintain turnaround times according to company and regulatory requirements.
Client Coordination
Contact clients regarding missing information or documentation.
Respond to inbound calls related to medical reviews.
Follow established customer service protocols during interactions.
Maintain professional communication with healthcare providers and clients.
Compliance
Adhere to URAC guidelines and utilization management standards.
Follow Department of Labor, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
Ensure compliance with company policies and client-specific requirements.
Continuous Learning
Learn new medical coding standards and healthcare procedures.
Support ongoing utilization management programs.
Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality.
