Job Summary

The STP/ETP Operator Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) and Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP). The role involves ensuring smooth plant operations, conducting preventive maintenance, monitoring treatment processes, and maintaining compliance with environmental and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations
Operate and monitor STP/ETP systems to ensure uninterrupted plant performance.
Monitor treatment processes, equipment, and system parameters.
Record operational readings and maintain plant logbooks.
Ensure treated water meets required quality and environmental standards.
Maintenance
Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, motors, blowers, valves, pipelines, and associated equipment.
Carry out routine inspections to identify equipment issues.
Assist in breakdown maintenance and corrective actions.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and replacements.
Troubleshooting
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and process-related faults.
Resolve operational issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Report major equipment failures to supervisors promptly.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Support compliance with statutory and company safety requirements.
Documentation
Maintain daily operation and maintenance records.
Prepare maintenance reports and equipment checklists.
Record chemical consumption and operational data.
Report abnormalities and corrective actions to management.
Required Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in:
Electrical Engineering (EEE)
Mechanical Engineering
Related technical disciplines
Experience
3–6 years of experience in STP, ETP, or industrial utility operations and maintenance.
