DevOps Engineer / Linux System Administrator

Experience: 7+ years Linux System Administration, including 3+ recent years in Amazon AWS
Qualification: Graduate in Computer Science, MCA, or equivalent
Core Requirements
Linux/Unix system administration and LAMP stack
AWS: EC2, VPC, VPC Peering, NAT Gateway, RDS, Route 53, ALB/ELB, IAM, S3, CloudFront, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Auto Scaling, ECS and more
Puppet: 2+ years; certification preferred
Jenkins & Git for CI/CD
Docker & Docker Compose
Apache HTTP Server
Bash scripting and AWS CLI
MySQL backup/restore
Nagios monitoring and log analysis
New Relic administration
Varnish, Memcache, PHP-FPM and related LAMP technologies
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, administer and monitor AWS-based application environments.
Maintain and scale LAMP environments cost-effectively.
Build and improve CI/CD processes using Jenkins and Git.
Automate infrastructure and server maintenance using Puppet and Bash.
Manage Docker images and containerized development/QA environments.
Monitor performance, security risks, logs and system health.
Handle Linux upgrades, security patches, backups, restores, snapshots and log rotation.
Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues and proactively prevent failures.
Work closely with developers and DevOps team members for QA and production deployments.
Additional Skills
Knowledge of Terraform, Chef/Salt, cloud migration and additional AWS services is an advantage.
Programming / Configuration: Bash, Puppet, ERB, YAML, basic Ruby, SQL, PHP and JSON.
Linux: Strong Ubuntu experience preferred; other Linux distributions are a plus.
