Job Summary

The Medical Coder is responsible for reviewing patient medical records and assigning accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using standardized coding systems. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical coding guidelines, and the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
Review patient medical records and clinical documentation.
Assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes using CPT-4, ICD-10-CM, and ICD-10-PCS coding systems.
Ensure coding complies with healthcare regulations and industry standards.
Follow UHDDS (Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set) guidelines and AHA Coding Clinic updates.
Adhere to third-party payer documentation and coding requirements.
Maintain coding accuracy, productivity, and quality standards.
Keep patient information confidential in accordance with healthcare privacy regulations.
Stay updated with changes in coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
