Role Overview
The Business Development Executive is responsible for acquiring new Large Enterprise clients and managing the complete sales cycle—from prospecting and initial outreach to negotiation, closure, and handover to the account management team.
The role focuses on building relationships with C-level executives and understanding their strategic priorities to position Gartner’s insights and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within an assigned territory.
Target Large Enterprise C-level stakeholders.
Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting through closure.
Convert qualified prospects into active Gartner clients.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
Meet assigned sales quotas and KPIs.
Manage complex, high-value sales across diverse and matrix organizations.
Conduct negotiations and close new business.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
Develop account and territory plans.
Successfully transition newly acquired clients to the Account Management team.
Required Experience & Skills
5+ years of B2B sales experience.
Business development/new-client acquisition experience preferred.
Experience selling to or influencing C-level executives.
Demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
Strong ability to manage and forecast complex sales cycles.
Experience in complex/intangible solution selling is preferred.
Willingness to travel as required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
