Job Summary
Cortex is looking for an experienced Optical Design Engineer with strong expertise in Ansys Speos and lens design to contribute to the development and simulation of advanced optical systems for next-generation products.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in optical simulation, lens design, optical tolerancing and system integration, along with strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and simulate advanced optical systems for innovative products.
Utilize Ansys Speos or similar optical simulation tools for optical system development.
Develop, optimize and validate optical system designs.
Apply strong knowledge of lens design and optical engineering principles.
Perform optical tolerancing and analyze system performance.
Support optical system integration across mechanical, electrical and hardware interfaces.
Collaborate with design, hardware and testing teams to achieve project objectives.
Analyze simulation and test results and recommend design improvements.
Troubleshoot complex optical and system-level technical issues.
Ensure optical designs meet defined performance, quality and reliability requirements.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to optical designs, simulations and validation.
Contribute to continuous improvement and development of next-generation optical solutions.
Required Skills & Expertise
5–8 years of relevant experience in optical design and engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with Ansys Speos or equivalent optical simulation software.
Deep knowledge of:
Lens design
Optical tolerancing
Optical system simulation
Optical system integration
Optical performance analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to interpret simulation and test results.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively with design, hardware and testing teams.
