Position: Senior Design Engineer – Electrical
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka
Experience: 8–15 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
Industry: Power & Energy / Power Plants / Oil & Gas

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design and engineering activities for high-voltage systems, switchyards, substations, and transmission & distribution projects. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in power-system design, equipment sizing, electrical layouts, protection schemes and international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design and engineer high-voltage systems, switchyards, substations, and T&D systems.
Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable international codes and standards.
Prepare and review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and electrical layout drawings.
Develop and select appropriate control and protection schemes based on project requirements.
Perform electrical equipment sizing and engineering calculations for:
Transformers
Switchgears
GCBs
Bus ducts
DG sets
UPS systems
DC systems
Prepare and review electrical equipment specifications and technical documentation.
Conduct technical and commercial evaluation of bids for electrical packages.
Review vendor drawings and technical submissions.
Perform and review earthing calculations and electrical design calculations.
Develop and review cable routing, earthing, lighting, switchyard and substation layouts.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
Lead, guide and mentor a team of electrical engineers.
Support project execution by resolving technical design issues and providing engineering inputs.
Required Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of power-system electrical design and engineering.
High-voltage systems and switchyard design.
Substation design and engineering.
Transmission & distribution systems.
Equipment and system specifications.
Single-line and schematic diagrams.
Power-system studies.
Cable routing and electrical layouts.
Earthing and lighting design.
Electrical equipment sizing and calculations.
Tender preparation and evaluation.
Vendor drawing and document review.
Industry Experience

Mandatory: Experience in Power Plants and/or Oil & Gas projects.

Preferred Candidate Profile
8–15 years of relevant electrical design and engineering experience.
Strong leadership and team-management skills.
Ability to handle multiple engineering activities and project deliverables.
Good technical documentation and communication skills.
Experience working with international engineering codes and standards.
Immediate joiners are preferred.
