Role Overview

The Technical Engineer will be based in the Chennai office and will play a key role in establishing and expanding the company’s Indian operations.

The position combines electrical design, cost estimation, pre-sales engineering, technical documentation and production support. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales teams, project managers and international colleagues across India, China and Denmark to develop technically sound and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
Prepare AutoCAD drawings, electrical layouts and technical documentation.
Support electrical design and development activities while ensuring accuracy and quality.
Work with Sales and Project Management teams to prepare accurate and competitive RFQ / quotation responses.
Perform technical calculations and develop cost-effective solutions based on customer requirements.
Obtain technical and commercial solutions from subcontractors and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Provide technical support during production and workshop execution activities when required.
Support large-scale infrastructure projects involving cables, plants, relays, transformers and related technologies.
Identify technical risks and contribute to effective risk mitigation.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Support improvements aimed at achieving on-time delivery, quality and cost efficiency.
Keep up to date with developments in Electrical Engineering, renewable energy and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
5–7 years of relevant experience in electrical design, prototyping and production support.
Experience in the electrical manufacturing industry is preferred.
Required Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
Familiarity with electrical design software.
Strong understanding of:
Electrical schematics
Electrical layouts
Design documentation
Electrical testing equipment and procedures
Cost estimation and technical calculations
Knowledge of relevant industry regulations, codes and standards, including IEC 61400 and UL requirements related to renewable-energy projects.
Good working knowledge of MS Office.
Familiarity with CRM and ERP systems and reporting tools.
