Job Summary

SRM University, Ramapuram is hiring Lab Assistants to support laboratory operations, assist faculty and students during practical sessions, maintain laboratory records, manage inventory, and ensure proper upkeep of laboratory facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Assist faculty and students during laboratory practicals and experiments.
Prepare chemicals, reagents, instruments, and glassware before practical sessions.
Perform autoclaving of laboratory instruments and glassware.
Maintain dead stock and consumable inventory registers.
Conduct physical verification of laboratory materials.
Maintain departmental files, records, and documentation.
Assist the Head of Department (HoD) in purchasing and procuring laboratory materials.
Supervise laboratory support staff (MTS) where applicable.
Support the HoD in routine laboratory administration.
Prevent misuse of laboratory facilities and equipment.
Report laboratory breakages, losses, and misconduct by students or staff to the HoD.
Assist in departmental procurement after obtaining necessary approvals.
Manage the sale and record-keeping of laboratory journals and record books.
Calculate and report laboratory breakage charges recoverable from students.
Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of laboratories.
Maintain live specimens, preserved specimens, laboratory instruments, and glassware.
Interact professionally and respectfully with students, faculty, and staff.
Eligibility
Experience: 0–5 years.
Freshers are eligible to apply.
Good communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices is preferred.
