Job Description (JD): MIG Welder – Heavy Fabrication

Job Title: MIG Welder
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder for heavy fabrication work. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of hands-on experience in MIG welding and be capable of producing high-quality welds on structural and heavy fabrication components. Basic knowledge of fitting and assembly will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on heavy fabrication and structural steel components.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, grinding, cleaning, and aligning components before welding.
Assemble and fit metal parts prior to welding.
Produce strong, clean, and defect-free welds according to quality standards.
Inspect completed welds and perform necessary finishing work.
Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, and fabrication equipment safely.
Carry out routine maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
Follow workplace safety regulations and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Coordinate with fabrication and production teams to meet daily production targets.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
ITI Welder/Fitter or equivalent technical qualification preferred.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of experience as a MIG Welder.
Basic Fitter knowledge is preferred.
