Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Hospital Pharmacist to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care in a multi-specialty hospital. The ideal candidate will work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the appropriate use of medications, maintain pharmacy operations, and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Review prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety.
Verify medication dosages, identify potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
Advise healthcare professionals and patients on the appropriate dosage, formulation, and administration of medications.
Participate in ward rounds and collect comprehensive patient medication histories.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, community pharmacists, and general practitioners regarding medication-related issues.
Counsel patients and caregivers on medication use, side effects, precautions, and adherence.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and security of medicines in accordance with hospital policies.
Supervise and guide junior pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
Respond to medication-related queries from hospital departments, healthcare professionals, and the public.
Prepare and quality-check sterile preparations, including intravenous (IV) medications.
Develop and implement hospital drug usage guidelines and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations.
Monitor and report pharmaceutical expenditure and inventory utilization.
Participate in clinical research, drug evaluation, and clinical trials where applicable.
Stay updated with advances in pharmacotherapy, hospital pharmacy practices, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm).
Valid State Pharmacy Council registration (preferred).
Experience
Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
Freshers with strong clinical knowledge may also be considered based on organizational requirements.
