Cost & Estimation – Pre-Sales Technical Engineer

Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu
Experience: 5–7 Years
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or related field

Job Summary

The role involves preparing technical proposals, cost estimation, electrical design support, and RFQ responses for customer-specific electrical solutions in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals for customer RFQs.
Design electrical layouts and prepare technical documentation using AutoCAD.
Collaborate with sales and project management teams during the pre-sales process.
Perform technical calculations and develop cost-effective solutions.
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
Support large-scale electrical infrastructure projects involving:
Cables
Transformers
Relays
Electrical plants
Understand customer requirements and provide customized technical solutions.
Drive process improvements and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Keep updated with emerging electrical engineering technologies.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD.
Experience in:
Electrical design
Cost estimation
Prototyping
Production support
Knowledge of:
Electrical schematics
Electrical layout design
Testing procedures
Familiarity with:
IEC 61400
UL standards
Renewable energy projects
Proficiency in:
MS Office
CRM systems
ERP systems
Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Work Environment
Based in Chennai.
Work closely with teams in India, Denmark, and China.
