🎯 Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Shopfloor Supervisor to manage production operations in a fabrication and machine shop environment.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in:

Steel fabrication
Machining operations
Workforce supervision
Drawing interpretation
Quality control
🔧 Key Roles & Responsibilities
1️⃣ Production Planning & Execution
Plan daily production schedules based on delivery timelines
Allocate manpower and machines efficiently
Interpret engineering drawings (CAD/2D) for:
Flanges
Foundation bolts
Structural fabrication
Explain technical requirements to fitters and machinists
Ensure products are manufactured according to client-specific requirements
Raise material requisitions for:
Steel plates
Bars
Welding consumables
Cutting tools
2️⃣ Quality Control (QA/QC)
Conduct in-process dimensional inspections
Verify finished products against customer drawing tolerances
Inspect weld quality and fit-up accuracy
Maintain:
Production logs
Rejection reports
Material Test Certificates (MTC)
3️⃣ Workforce & Shopfloor Management
Supervise welders, fitters, riggers, machinists, and helpers
Manage shift schedules and attendance
Train junior workers on machine usage and safety
Ensure PPE and safety compliance across the shopfloor
4️⃣ Machine & Tool Maintenance
Schedule preventive maintenance for:
Lathes
Drilling machines
Welding sets
Power saws
Coordinate breakdown repairs with maintenance teams
✅ Required Qualifications & Skills
🎓 Education

Candidates with any of the following can apply:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
B.E / B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
ITI with strong practical experience
💼 Experience
Minimum 3–7 years of experience in:
Steel fabrication shops
Machine shops
Experience in manufacturing:
Foundation bolts
Flanges
preferred
Experience in contract manufacturing/job work industry is an added advantage
⚙️ Technical Skills
Blueprint / fabrication drawing reading
Measuring instruments:
Vernier Caliper
Micrometer
Height Gauge
Measuring Tape
Knowledge of:
Cutting
Grinding
Welding (MIG/ARC)
Drilling
Threading
