About the Role
Sree Saran Medical Centre is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical knowledge in neonatal nursing, excellent patient care skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in a NABH-accredited environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns admitted to the NICU.
Continuously monitor neonatal vital signs and promptly report any changes in patient condition.
Administer medications, IV fluids, oxygen therapy, and other prescribed treatments accurately.
Assist neonatologists and pediatricians during medical procedures, rounds, and emergency situations.
Operate and monitor NICU equipment such as incubators, ventilators, infusion pumps, and phototherapy units.
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, patient records, and treatment charts.
Follow NABH standards, infection prevention protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
Educate and counsel parents on neonatal care, breastfeeding, infection prevention, and discharge instructions.
Coordinate effectively with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
Participate in continuous nursing education, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental training programs.
Eligibility Criteria
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Valid Nursing Council Registration (Tamil Nadu registration preferred).
Minimum 1–3 years of NICU experience in a reputed hospital.
Freshers with certified NICU training may also be considered.
Required Skills
Sound knowledge of neonatal nursing practices.
Ability to handle neonatal emergencies and critical care situations.
Knowledge of infection control and NABH quality standards.
Strong clinical assessment and observation skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and team-oriented approach.
Good documentation and time management skills.
Salary
