Job Summary
Sree Saran Medical Centre, a NABH-accredited hospital, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill and premature newborns while ensuring high standards of patient safety, infection control, and quality healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill, premature, and high-risk newborns in the NICU.
Monitor and assess neonatal patients’ vital signs and clinical condition.
Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
Assist doctors during neonatal procedures, emergency interventions, and ward rounds.
Operate and monitor NICU equipment such as incubators, ventilators, infusion pumps, and phototherapy units.
Maintain accurate nursing documentation, patient records, and treatment charts.
Adhere to NABH standards, hospital policies, and infection prevention and control protocols.
Educate and counsel parents regarding newborn care, breastfeeding, infection prevention, and discharge planning.
Coordinate with pediatricians, neonatologists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
Participate in emergency response and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.
Valid Nursing Council Registration (Tamil Nadu registration preferred).
Minimum 1–3 years of NICU experience in a reputed hospital.
Freshers with NICU training are also encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of neonatal nursing and critical care.
Proficiency in monitoring neonatal vital signs and administering medications.
Knowledge of infection control practices and NABH standards.
Good clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate approach toward newborns and their families.
Salary
