Job Description – Full-Time Remote Bookkeeper (UK Accounting & Xero)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bookkeeper with strong expertise in UK bookkeeping standards and Xero accounting software. The ideal candidate should be highly organised, accurate, and capable of managing financial records across multiple income streams while maintaining audit-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management
Perform daily bookkeeping activities using Xero
Record and categorise expenses, petty cash, and receipts accurately
Raise invoices and ensure proper reconciliation of transactions
Manage invoice tracking from creation through payment completion
Link and reconcile bank feeds, Stripe, PayPal, and other payment platforms
Attach invoices and supporting documents to Xero entries with proper references
Maintain clear and traceable transaction records
Reconciliation & Compliance
Conduct regular reconciliations to ensure books remain updated and accurate
Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and HMRC guidelines
Support accountants with VAT returns, year-end reporting, and related financial processes
Documentation & Process Management
Maintain organised and accessible digital financial records
Ensure all bookkeeping documentation is accurate, complete, and audit-ready
Required Qualifications & Skills
2–3+ years of bookkeeping experience (UK-based experience preferred)
Strong proficiency in Xero, including:
Bank feed setup
Reconciliation
Invoice attachment and tracking
AAT qualification or recognised UK bookkeeping certification
Strong understanding of:
UK accounting standards
UK tax rules
Expense categorisation
Ability to allocate Stripe payments accurately, including batch transactions
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
Reliable, deadline-oriented, and highly trustworthy
