Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Migration to Cloud Solution Architect to lead enterprise-scale modernization and migration initiatives from legacy mainframe systems to public cloud platforms.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining technical strategies, solution blueprints, migration architectures, and modernization roadmaps that align with business goals while ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and cost optimization.

This role requires deep expertise in both traditional mainframe ecosystems and modern cloud-native architectures.

Mainframe Systems Expertise
Databases & File Systems
Manage and modernize:
DB2 for z/OS
VSAM
IMS DB/DC
Transaction Processing Systems
Work extensively with:
CICS
IMS/TM
Mainframe Utilities & Scheduling
Strong experience with:
TSO/ISPF
SPUFI
CA-7
Control-M
Other enterprise schedulers
Cloud & Modernization Responsibilities
Define cloud migration strategies for large-scale mainframe applications.
Architect secure, scalable, and high-performance target cloud environments.
Lead modernization initiatives including:
Re-platforming
Refactoring
Re-architecting legacy applications
Design integration frameworks between legacy and cloud-native systems.
Ensure cost optimization, governance, and cloud security compliance.
Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering teams, and business leaders to align modernization goals.

Cloud Platforms

Expert-level knowledge in at least one hyperscale cloud provider:

AWS
Microsoft Azure
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Preferred Certifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Google Professional Cloud Architect
Modern Development Technologies

Hands-on experience with:

Java / Spring Boot
C# / .NET
Python
Node.js
Required Experience
Minimum 10 years of overall IT experience.
At least 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect.
Proven experience leading enterprise modernization and migration programs.
Strong hands-on involvement in mainframe-to-cloud migration projects is mandatory.

Strong architecture and problem-solving skills.
Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership capabilities.
Experience working in enterprise transformation environments.
Ability to bridge legacy systems with modern cloud-native architectures.
