Lab Technician – Public Health Research Project

About the Project:

This research study aims to investigate the impact of extreme summer heat in India on lactating mothers, specifically focusing on breast milk volume and quality. The study will also examine links to inflammatory and oxidative stress markers, the role of maternal nutrition, and the subsequent effects on infant growth.

Additionally, an exploratory component will assess whether Omega-3 fatty acid (OFA) supplementation can help mitigate heat stress by reducing oxidative stress in lactating mothers through a small feasibility trial.

Salary: ₹21,500 per month
Eligibility Criteria:
Qualification: BSc MLT / MSc MLT
Experience: Minimum 1 year
Language Requirement: Kannada
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate follow-up visits with study participants
Conduct home visits for deuterium administration and sample collection
Collect biological samples including blood, saliva, and urine
Travel to field locations for participant recruitment and sample collection
Ensure proper handling, documentation, and transport of samples
