Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head Mechanic to lead the maintenance and repair operations within our workshop. The successful candidate will oversee a team of mechanics and technicians, ensure the efficient functioning of vehicles and machinery, manage maintenance schedules, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to coordinate maintenance activities while ensuring customer satisfaction and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair Operations
Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of vehicles, machinery, and mechanical equipment.
Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Monitor equipment performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Preventive Maintenance
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce equipment downtime.
Schedule routine inspections and servicing activities.
Extend the operational lifespan of machinery and equipment through proactive maintenance practices.
Team Leadership & Supervision
Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of mechanics and technicians.
Train, mentor, and support junior staff in technical and operational matters.
Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Inventory & Resource Management
Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
Ensure critical components are readily available while minimizing excess inventory.
Monitor usage and optimize resource allocation.
Vendor & Supplier Management
Liaise with suppliers and vendors for procurement of parts, tools, and equipment.
Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
Ensure quality standards and cost-effectiveness in procurement activities.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Conduct advanced diagnostic testing to identify mechanical and technical faults.
Utilize modern diagnostic equipment and software to resolve complex issues.
Implement effective solutions to improve equipment reliability.
Fabrication & Process Improvement
Design and fabricate custom components and modifications when required.
Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer Service & Issue Resolution
Investigate and resolve customer complaints related to repairs and maintenance services.
Ensure customer satisfaction through effective communication and quality workmanship.
Maintain the organization’s reputation for excellence and reliability.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and maintenance standards.
Promote safe work practices and proper use of equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
