Job Title: Senior General Manager / General Manager – Marketing
Location: Bangalore
Experience Required: 23 – 27 Years (or equivalent senior leadership experience)
Salary Range: ₹50 – 60 LPA (Negotiable)
Reporting To: CEO
Industry: Apparel / Garment Manufacturing / Fashion Export
Role Overview
The Senior GM / GM – Marketing will be responsible for leading global business development, managing relationships with international fashion brands, and driving strategic growth across premium apparel categories including woven tops and bottoms.
The role demands strong expertise in global apparel sourcing, product development, costing, and supply chain management, along with deep understanding of international fashion markets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Business Development & Sales
Manage and grow business worth approximately $50 million annually.
Develop and maintain relationships with premium/luxury brands in USA, UK, and Europe.
Identify new business opportunities in international markets.
Travel extensively for buyer meetings, trade shows, and fashion fairs.
2. Product Development & Merchandising
Work closely with design and PD teams to develop new collections.
Ensure alignment of product development with global fashion trends and buyer requirements.
Oversee sampling, approvals, and execution of seasonal collections.
3. Sourcing & Costing Expertise
Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and raw material sourcing.
Manage costing strategies and ensure competitive pricing structures.
Optimize supply chain efficiency and production planning.
4. Supply Chain & Operations Coordination
Oversee end-to-end supply chain processes from development to delivery.
Ensure timely execution of orders with quality compliance.
Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, and operations teams.
5. Client Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with international buyers and fashion brands.
Understand buyer requirements and translate them into production and design outcomes.
Ensure long-term partnerships and repeat business.
6. Leadership & Team Management
Lead cross-functional teams across design, merchandising, sourcing, and production.
Mentor and guide teams for performance excellence.
Drive strategic decision-making at senior management level.
Required Qualifications
Formal education in:
Fashion Design
Textiles
Apparel Technology
Related fields from reputed institutes (preferred)
Required Skills & Experience
23–27 years of experience in apparel / garment manufacturing industry
Strong expertise in:
Woven garments (tops & bottoms)
International buyer handling
Product development (PD)
Costing and sourcing
Supply chain management
Experience working with premium or luxury international brands
Strong design sensibility and understanding of fashion trends
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong leadership and team management capabilities
Willingness to travel internationally
Preferred Profile
Experience in global apparel export companies
Exposure to USA / UK / European markets
Strong network in fashion and apparel industry
Experience handling large-scale business operations
Compensation
₹50 – 60 Lakhs per annum (Negotiable based on experience and fit)
