Job Summary
Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India is looking for a hands-on, self-driven Data Engineer with 4–8 years of experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT development, and cloud data engineering.

The selected candidate will be responsible for developing scalable data pipelines, integrating multiple data sources, and managing cloud data infrastructure using Microsoft Azure, Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Tables. The role involves working closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional teams to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Ingestion & Pipeline Development
– Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines.
– Onboard, clean, transform, and integrate complex data sources into Azure Cloud.
– Implement Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers).
– Work with Azure Databricks and Delta Tables.
2. Data Modeling & Aggregation
– Combine multiple data sources to develop optimized aggregate tables and views.
– Design data models for reporting and analytics applications.
– Automate weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc data workflows.
– Ensure seamless and reliable data delivery.
3. Collaboration & Optimization
– Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists across teams.
– Develop feature-engineered tables and views for advanced analytics.
– Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines.
– Improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
4. Engineering Best Practices
– Follow code modularity and documentation standards.
– Implement error handling and data quality checks.
– Ensure data integrity, reliability, and maintainability.
