Job Summary

Bayer is seeking an experienced Principal Cyber Security Engineer to manage and enhance the organization’s enterprise cybersecurity infrastructure. This role focuses on Security Operations, SIEM, Security Logging, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Automation, and Platform Engineering to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise systems.

The successful candidate will lead security platform operations, improve security visibility, automate infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen Bayer’s global cybersecurity posture.

Key Responsibilities
Security Platform Engineering
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity platforms.
Ensure secure and scalable platform operations.
Optimize platform performance and availability.
Maintain enterprise security infrastructure.
Security Monitoring
Implement and maintain centralized security logging infrastructure.
Support Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
Maintain User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) platforms.
Enable enterprise-wide security monitoring.
SIEM & Log Management
Manage enterprise log collection.
Onboard security data sources.
Monitor log health and data quality.
Improve security visibility across the organization.
Cloud Security
Implement secure cloud infrastructure.
Optimize cloud platform security.
Support secure cloud operations.
Maintain scalable cloud environments.
Infrastructure Automation
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Build automation scripts.
Automate platform provisioning.
Standardize infrastructure deployment.
Monitoring & Reporting
Develop dashboards and reports.
Build security KPIs.
Configure alerts.
Improve monitoring capabilities.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Communicate infrastructure changes.
Coordinate onboarding of new security data sources.
Support operational continuity.
Incident Response
Respond to platform incidents.
Perform root cause analysis.
Recommend corrective actions.
Improve platform resilience.
Leadership
Mentor junior platform engineers.
Promote cybersecurity best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Documentation
Maintain operational documentation.

Required Experience
15+ years of overall IT experience.
5+ years of cybersecurity experience.
Previous experience in Security Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with:
