Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical knowledge, hands-on neonatal nursing skills, and a commitment to providing specialized care for critically ill and premature newborns.

The role requires close collaboration with neonatologists, pediatricians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure the highest standards of neonatal care and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
Neonatal Patient Care
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill, premature, and high-risk newborns admitted to the NICU.
Monitor and assess neonatal patients’ vital signs, oxygen saturation, and overall clinical condition.
Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Assist with neonatal resuscitation and life-support procedures when required.
Clinical Support
Support doctors during patient rounds, diagnostic procedures, and medical emergencies.
Operate and monitor neonatal equipment such as incubators, phototherapy units, infusion pumps, and monitoring systems.
Assist in feeding management and developmental care of newborns.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation and patient records.
Ensure compliance with NABH standards, hospital policies, and nursing protocols.
Follow infection prevention and control measures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Parent Education & Counseling
Educate parents and caregivers regarding neonatal care, feeding practices, infection prevention, and discharge instructions.
Provide emotional support and counseling to families during the newborn’s hospitalization.
Quality & Patient Safety
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs.
Maintain clinical competency and stay updated with neonatal nursing best practices.
Ensure adherence to ethical and professional nursing standards.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery)
B.Sc Nursing
Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
Registration
Valid Nursing Council Registration
Tamil Nadu Nursing Council Registration preferred
Experience
Minimum 1–3 years of NICU experience in a reputed hospital.
Freshers with NICU training are also encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
Strong neonatal nursing and patient assessment skills.
Knowledge of NICU protocols and neonatal emergency care.
Ability to monitor critically ill newborns and respond effectively to emergencies.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong documentation and patient-care management abilities.
