About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Electrical & Electronics Engineer / Hardware Design Engineer to join the engineering team of a leading industrial AI technology company in Coimbatore.

The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, analyzing and validating advanced AI-based industrial products, ensuring that hardware solutions are robust, reliable, high-performing, cost-effective and compliant with international standards.

Key Responsibilities
Design, simulate and prototype analog and digital electronic circuits for industrial products.
Develop hardware architectures and design solutions for AI-enabled industrial applications.
Prepare detailed hardware schematics and Bills of Materials (BOM) using EDA tools.
Design and review PCB layouts with consideration for:
EMI/EMC
Thermal management
Signal integrity
Reliability
Manufacturability
Work closely with firmware and mechanical engineering teams to deliver integrated hardware solutions.
Conduct hardware testing, debugging and validation.
Perform worst-case analysis to ensure reliable hardware operation across different operating conditions.
Optimize hardware designs for cost, performance, reliability and manufacturability.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during electrical, thermal and EMI/EMC testing.
Perform and document hardware functional testing against customer requirements.
Collaborate with the Functional Safety team on FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis) activities.
Ensure hardware designs comply with applicable industry standards and customer specifications.
Evaluate electronic components and stay updated with emerging technologies and component advancements.
Provide technical support during prototype development, testing and product release.
Communicate technical findings and design decisions effectively to internal teams, clients and stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
Hardware Design
10+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design.
Strong expertise in both analog and digital electronics.
Extensive practical knowledge of:
DC/DC Converters
Op-Amps
Analog circuits
Digital circuits
Power electronics fundamentals
Strong understanding of electronic component selection and application.
PCB & EDA
Hands-on experience with PCB design and development.
Proficiency in Altium Designer, OrCAD or equivalent EDA tools.
Experience reviewing PCB layouts for electrical, thermal and EMI/EMC considerations.
Experience with schematics, BOM generation and hardware documentation.
Testing & Debugging
Hands-on experience with:
Oscilloscopes
Multimeters
Electronic testing equipment
Hardware debugging tools
Experience performing functional hardware testing and validation.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, thermal and EMI/EMC issues.
Reliability & Compliance
Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in hardware design.
Experience performing worst-case analysis for hardware reliability.
Familiarity with functional safety concepts and testing protocols.
Exposure to FMEDA activities is an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
Electronics Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Instrumentation Engineering
Related engineering discipline
10+ years of relevant professional experience in hardware/electronics design.
