About the Role

We are looking for a knowledgeable and customer-focused DME Specialist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will assist patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in obtaining and understanding durable medical equipment while ensuring accurate documentation, excellent customer service, and compliance with insurance and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
Assist patients in selecting and obtaining durable medical equipment such as:
Oxygen supplies
CPAP/BiPAP machines
Mobility aids
Nebulizers
Other DME products
Educate patients and caregivers on:
Proper equipment usage
Care and maintenance
Safety instructions
Process:
Orders
Documentation
Prior authorizations accurately and efficiently
Verify:
Insurance coverage
Eligibility
Benefits according to payer requirements
Coordinate:
Equipment deliveries
Pickups
Setup activities
Maintain inventory accuracy and equipment readiness
Communicate with:
Physicians
Case managers
Healthcare professionals
Ensure compliance with:
Medicare guidelines
Medicaid regulations
Private insurance policies
HIPAA standards
Maintain accurate records in DME software systems such as:
Brightree
NikoHealth
Similar EMR/DME platforms
Qualifications & Skills

✅ Bachelor’s Degree (Mandatory)

✅ Healthcare-related experience preferred

✅ Prior experience in:

DME
HME
Respiratory care
Medical office operations (Preferred)

✅ Knowledge of:

Insurance verification
Prior authorizations
DME billing codes

✅ Strong communication and customer service skills

✅ Good analytical and problem-solving abilities

✅ Familiarity with:

Medicare/Medicaid policies
HIPAA compliance

✅ Basic computer proficiency and EMR/DME software knowledge preferred
