Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Assistant Professor in Interior Design to contribute to the academic development of the Interior Design program. The role involves teaching, student mentoring, curriculum development, research, industry collaboration, and academic administration.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Curriculum Development

Assist in developing and implementing the Interior Design syllabus and curriculum.

Conduct theory classes, design studios, and practical workshops.

Create an engaging and interactive learning environment.

Support the setup and management of design labs and material libraries.

Student Mentoring

Mentor and guide students on academic projects and design assignments.

Support student research activities and industry collaborations.

Provide academic guidance and encourage participation in design competitions.

Admissions

Participate in the student admission process.

Counsel prospective students regarding the Interior Design program.

Conduct entrance assessments as required.

Research & Academic Activities

Participate in research activities related to Interior Design.

Contribute to research publications and design competitions.

Organize and participate in seminars, workshops, exhibitions, and academic events.

Industry Collaboration

Develop partnerships with industry professionals and organizations.

Facilitate student internships, industry projects, and guest lectures.

Strengthen industry-academia collaboration within the program.

Administration

Assist with academic planning and accreditation activities.

Support inter-departmental coordination and other academic responsibilities.

Contribute to the institution’s overall vision for academic excellence.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of contemporary and traditional Interior Design methodologies.

Proficiency in digital design tools such as:

AutoCAD

SketchUp

Rhino

Revit

Experience in managing design studios and material laboratories.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong leadership, organizational, and mentoring abilities.

Passion for teaching, research, and Interior Design education.

Willingness to relocate to Coimbatore.
