JOB DESCRIPTION – STRUCTURAL STEEL ENGINEER / CHECKER

Position: Engineer / Checker
Location: Mysore / Bangalore, Karnataka
Experience: 2–10 Years
Qualification: Diploma / B.E./B.Tech – Civil or Mechanical Engineering
Industry: Structural Steel
Compensation: As per industry standards

Job Summary

We are looking for Structural Steel Engineers / Checkers with 2–10 years of experience in the structural steel industry. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of structural steel drawings, fabrication and erection requirements, applicable standards, and Trimble Tekla 3D modelling/checking.

Key Responsibilities
Read, review and analyze contract drawings.
Identify and document mismatched, incomplete or missing information.
Prepare engineering input documents based on project requirements.
Check structural steel fabrication and erection drawings.
Review structural steel models and drawings for accuracy and constructability.
Correct drawings and make required modifications in Trimble Tekla 3D models.
Identify potential fabrication and erection issues and recommend alternative solutions.
Ensure drawings and engineering deliverables comply with applicable project standards.
Coordinate effectively with engineers, checkers and other project team members.
Support project execution and ensure deliverables are completed within scheduled timelines.
Required Technical Skills
Structural steel design/drafting knowledge.
Strong ability to read and interpret engineering/contract drawings.
Experience with Trimble Tekla 3D.
Knowledge of:
AISC Standards
BS Standards
BIS Standards
Knowledge of different structural steel sections/shapes.
Understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
Ability to visualize constructability issues and provide practical solutions.
Educational Qualification
Diploma in Civil / Mechanical Engineering, or
B.E./B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
2–10 years of relevant experience in the Structural Steel Industry.
Candidates with hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication/erection drawings and Tekla are preferred.
