Job Summary

S M Engineering Works is seeking a skilled Welder / Fabrication Technician to perform welding and fabrication of metal components used in industrial machinery and structural applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on industrial welding experience, be proficient in reading engineering drawings, and be capable of producing high-quality fabrication work while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches to determine welding requirements.
Perform welding and fabrication of metal components using appropriate welding techniques.
Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, aligning, clamping, and positioning parts before welding.
Ensure proper fit-up and alignment of fabricated components.
Carry out grinding, finishing, and polishing of welded assemblies.
Support fabrication activities including fitting, assembly, and material preparation.
Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
Operate and maintain welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and measuring tools.
Perform routine maintenance of welding equipment and ensure it remains in good working condition.
Follow Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) guidelines and safe working practices.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fabrication work area.
Work independently as well as collaboratively with the fabrication team to meet production schedules.
Qualifications
ITI in Welder/Fitter/Fabrication or equivalent technical qualification.
Welding certification is preferred.
Experience
3–5 years of industrial welding and fabrication experience.
