Job Summary
The Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring infection prevention strategies to reduce healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). The role ensures compliance with infection control standards, conducts surveillance and audits, educates healthcare staff, and promotes a safe environment for patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and update infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
Monitor, investigate, and track healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and outbreak trends.
Conduct infection surveillance and analyze infection-related data.
Perform infection control audits and inspections to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
Implement measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Ensure compliance with hand hygiene, sterilization, disinfection, isolation, and biomedical waste management protocols.
Educate and train hospital staff on infection prevention practices and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Monitor adherence to infection control guidelines across all hospital departments.
Prepare infection surveillance reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient safety and quality of care.
Support accreditation and regulatory compliance related to infection prevention.
