Job Summary
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking a Principal Network Reliability Engineer to design, deploy, automate, and operate highly reliable, scalable, and secure cloud networking infrastructure. In this role, you will ensure the availability and performance of Oracle’s global cloud network by leveraging deep networking expertise, automation, monitoring, and distributed systems knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and operate large-scale global cloud network infrastructure.
Develop and maintain highly available and scalable network solutions supporting OCI data centers.
Automate network provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and operational workflows using Python and automation frameworks.
Design and implement network changes while ensuring operational safety and reliability.
Build tools and automation that enable first-line support teams to resolve network incidents efficiently.
Develop dashboards, telemetry, and alerting systems for proactive network monitoring.
Perform incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews.
Collaborate with automation, monitoring, quality assurance, and vendor teams to improve network reliability.
Participate in network architecture, design reviews, and solution planning.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership.
Participate in on-call operational rotations to support mission-critical cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities in Operations
Support and operate hundreds of thousands of network devices across Oracle’s global cloud.
Develop automation scripts for routine operational tasks.
Coordinate firmware upgrades and operating system validation with network vendors.
Improve operational efficiency through automation and tooling.
Ensure network scalability, performance, and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for cloud networking operations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 10+ years of Network Engineering experience.
OR
Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 8+ years of Network Engineering experience.
Preferred Experience
Large ISP or Cloud Service Provider environments.
Network Operations or Network Reliability Engineering (NRE).
