Job Summary

The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading the Engineering and Maintenance Department, ensuring the efficient operation of all hotel engineering systems and facilities. The role focuses on maintaining high standards of safety, operational efficiency, preventive maintenance, energy management, and guest satisfaction while managing the engineering team and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel.
Supervise, mentor, and develop the engineering and maintenance team.
Plan and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Ensure uninterrupted operation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and other building systems.
Optimize energy consumption and manage utility operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, environmental standards, and health & safety requirements.
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance, repairs, and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
Monitor maintenance budgets, inventory, and spare parts.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues and minimize operational downtime.
Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and recommend improvements.
Maintain engineering documentation, maintenance records, and compliance reports.
Collaborate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations and guest comfort.
Required Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Minimum 8 years of experience in hotel engineering, facility management, or building maintenance.
Experience in leading engineering teams within hotels, resorts, or hospitality properties.
