Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Physical Layer/Baseband Processing Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced wireless communication waveforms for defence applications. The successful candidate will work on Physical Layer (PHY) and baseband signal processing, implementing FHSS and FHSS-OFDM waveforms on TI DSP platforms while collaborating closely with RF engineers to deliver robust wireless communication systems.

Key Responsibilities
Physical Layer Development
Design and develop Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) waveforms for the Basic wireless communication system.
Develop FHSS-OFDM waveforms for the Advanced wireless communication platform.
Design Physical Layer algorithms to support secure, reliable, and high-performance communication.
Implement waveform synchronization and optimize signal processing performance.
Baseband Processing
Develop and optimize baseband signal processing algorithms.
Port MATLAB-based communication algorithms to TI DSP platforms.
Optimize DSP implementations for computational efficiency (20–50 MFLOPS).
Ensure real-time processing and reliable wireless communication.
DSP Development
Implement waveform processing on Texas Instruments DSPs (C55x, C6748).
Develop embedded DSP software using C/C++.
Utilize TI Code Composer Studio for firmware development and debugging.
Optimize DSP performance for low latency and efficient resource utilization.
RF Integration
Collaborate with RF engineers for integration with RF front-end hardware.
Support integration with platforms such as HackRF and AD9361.
Validate end-to-end wireless communication performance.
Troubleshoot RF and baseband integration issues.
Testing & Validation
Perform simulation, testing, and validation of communication algorithms.
Analyze system performance under various operating conditions.
Ensure compliance with defence communication requirements.
Document design methodologies and technical specifications.
Required Qualifications
B.Tech/M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Degree from a reputed institution.
Experience
Minimum 7 years of experience in Physical Layer design and Baseband Processing for wireless communication systems.
