Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Pump Design Engineer to support engineering activities for pumps used in nuclear applications. The role involves order engineering, Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, design documentation, compliance with nuclear standards, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams from order receipt through manufacturing and shipment.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience
6–8 years of experience in Pump Engineering.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Nuclear Applications.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and validate pump designs for nuclear applications, including primary cooling, feedwater, and auxiliary systems.
Interpret and apply ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III (NB, NCD & NF) and other applicable nuclear standards.
Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with nuclear quality assurance requirements.
Review customer specifications and develop detailed engineering solutions.
Select appropriate materials and components based on project requirements.
Create manufacturing documentation, including:
Bills of Materials (BOM)
Engineering Drawings
Manufacturing Instructions
Export Control Documentation
Prepare engineering drawings, layouts, P&IDs, and manufacturing documentation.
Confirm design feasibility with Product Engineering and Project Management teams.
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Procurement, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards.
Drive engineering activities from order processing through project completion.
Support Sales and Commercial teams by providing technical solutions and engineering proposals.
Lead collaboration with Engineering Services, Product Engineering, and Corporate Technology teams to resolve complex pump engineering challenges.
Recommend continuous improvements to engineering processes and design procedures.
Review new engineering standards and identify implementation gaps.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code Section III (NB, NCD, NF).
Good understanding of ASME Section VIII, Division 1 (preferred).
Proficiency in:
SolidWorks
Windchill PLM
ERP Systems (Oracle preferred)
Experience in:
Bill of Materials (BOM) Creation
Engineering Documentation
P&ID Preparation
2D Drafting Standards
GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and standards.
Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
