Job Summary

NV5 is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, commercial buildings, banking, and financial sector projects. The ideal candidate should possess extensive expertise in power distribution, electrical infrastructure design, and compliance with international standards while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Design
Design and develop electrical systems including:
Power Distribution
Lighting Systems
Control Systems
Telecommunications Systems
Prepare electrical schematics, layouts, and single-line diagrams (SLDs).
Develop Basis of Design (BOD) documents.
Perform:
Load calculations
Cable sizing
Electrical calculations
Cable schedules
Design:
Lighting layouts
Power layouts
Cable tray systems
Earthing systems
Equipment layouts
Equipment Selection

Specify and select electrical equipment including:

Transformers
Generators
UPS Systems
Static Transfer Switches (STS)
Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
Capacitor Banks
Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear
Medium Voltage (MV) Switchgear
Project Coordination
Coordinate with:
Architects
Civil Engineers
Structural Engineers
MEP Engineers
Clients
Participate in technical and design review meetings.
Resolve design-related technical issues.
Design Review & Compliance
Review electrical designs for quality and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with:
Client specifications
Industry standards
Applicable electrical codes
Maintain project documentation and technical records.
Cost Estimation
Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Develop project cost estimates.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience
7–10+ Years in Electrical Design Consultancy.
