Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Machine Operator to operate, maintain, and monitor SMT production equipment used in electronic manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate placement of surface mount components on Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), maintaining equipment efficiency, and supporting high-quality production standards.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Setup & Calibration
Set up SMT machines according to production schedules and engineering specifications.
Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate component placement.
Load solder paste, component reels, feeders, and other consumables.
Verify machine readiness before production starts.
Production Operations
Operate SMT machines for PCB assembly.
Monitor machine performance during production.
Perform machine adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
Ensure production targets are achieved as per schedule.
Quality Control
Perform visual inspection of assembled PCBs.
Identify defects related to:
Component placement
Soldering
Alignment
Ensure products meet quality standards.
Coordinate with the Quality team to resolve production issues.
Machine Maintenance
Perform routine preventive maintenance on SMT equipment.
Clean machines and feeders regularly.
Troubleshoot minor machine faults.
Escalate major technical issues to the maintenance team.
Documentation
Maintain:
Production logs
Machine maintenance records
Shift reports
Quality records
Report deviations from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration
Coordinate with:
Production Supervisors
Process Engineers
Quality Engineers
Maintenance Team
Provide suggestions to improve productivity and machine efficiency.
Training & Continuous Learning
Attend training sessions on SMT technology.
Stay updated with new manufacturing techniques.
Support onboarding and training of new SMT operators.
Required Qualifications
Education
ITI / Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in:
Electronics
Electrical
Mechanical
Instrumentation
Mechatronics
Related Engineering disciplines
Experience
0–2+ years in SMT production or electronics manufacturing.
Freshers with relevant technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
