Job Summary

Crunch Media Works is seeking a highly skilled Android Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain advanced Android software components and SDKs focused on video optimization and content sharing technologies. The role involves working on Android OS-level media frameworks, Media Codec APIs, and high-performance video processing solutions.

You will be a key member of a talented engineering team building next-generation video technologies, contributing from architecture design through implementation, optimization, and maintenance of Android video SDKs and applications.

Key Responsibilities
Android SDK & Platform Development
Design, develop, and maintain Android-based software components and SDKs.
Customize and extend Android Media Codec APIs and Android OS media stack components.
Build reusable frameworks and libraries enabling Crunch Mobile technologies.
Video Processing & Optimization
Develop high-performance video applications focused on:
Video transcoding
Video packaging
Video sharing
Hardware-accelerated video processing
Optimize video workflows for low latency and high performance.
Leverage hardware codecs available on Android platforms including Qualcomm, Samsung Exynos, and MediaTek.
Android Application Development
Build and maintain Android applications with strong focus on multimedia and video technologies.
Develop intuitive Android user interfaces while ensuring application performance and stability.
Integrate REST APIs and backend services.
Native Development & Media Frameworks
Develop Android native components using:
C/C++
Android NDK
GStreamer
OpenMAX
Work extensively with Android Media Frameworks and codec stacks.
Collaboration & Engineering Excellence
Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and Agile ceremonies.
Maintain and enhance existing Android software components and frameworks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Android Development
5+ years of experience in Android application development.
Strong expertise in Android SDK and Android NDK.
Experience building high-performance Android applications.
Hands-on Android UI development experience.
