Senior Data Analyst – Power BI

Location: Remote

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Analyst with strong expertise in Power BI to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will lead data-driven initiatives, design scalable BI solutions, and transform complex datasets into meaningful business insights. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced SQL skills, and hands-on experience in enterprise-level reporting and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models.
Implement advanced data modeling techniques including star schema and snowflake schema.
Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable BI solutions.
Ensure data governance, data quality, and security implementation including Row-Level Security (RLS).
Gather business requirements and translate them into impactful dashboards and analytical reports.
Optimize Power BI performance using efficient data models, query tuning, and incremental refresh techniques.
Build reusable datasets and maintain reporting standards across projects.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Power BI, analytics, and Microsoft technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, or similar role.
Strong hands-on experience with:
Power BI
Power Query (M Language)
DAX
SQL
Expertise in relational databases such as:
SQL Server
Azure SQL
Oracle
Strong understanding of:
Data modeling
Normalized & denormalized structures
Star & snowflake schemas
Experience handling large datasets and performance optimization in Power BI.
Knowledge of ETL processes, data integration, and pipeline development.
Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).
Experience with tools such as Tableau or Qlik.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Exposure to:
Azure Data Factory
Azure Synapse
Azure Data Lake
Power Apps
Power Automate
Knowledge of Python or advanced analytics tools is an added advantage.
Experience in domains such as Finance, Healthcare, or Supply Chain is preferred.
